After a short hike to an incredible viewpoint of the Geirangerfjord we headed back to the carpark. The whole area was stunning, the fjord itself is known as the king of fjords, and is only 20km long but it’s thin with a twisting ‘S’ shape and formidable mountains shooting up its sides. The track was lined with goats, and much to our surprise – alpacas/llamas (I still don’t know the difference). They stood ahead of us all lined up infront of a spectacular peak that instantly reminded me of the pictures you see of Machu Picchu in Peru. OK so there were no ruins but the scenery and location is what makes the photos. We only had a 5 minute walk back to Pablo – beats having a 2 day hike to a similar view.
